Artistic leader
Violinist
Anders has played in the 1:st violin-section with the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra since 1996 and have been engaged in Swedish symphony and chamberorchestras as well as in chamber music settings on a regular basis.
His solo concerts are often based on a theme that he creates. The theme may be literary or have geographically interesting details that suddenly make the repertoire obvious to the concert programme.
Events
Initiator and the artistic leader of the following events:
- 2006-2015 Forshaga Chamber Music Festival, together with fellow violinist and colleague Per Öman.
- 2011 – Borlänge Chamber Music Festival, which was formed together with Peace & Love Borlänge Association and Borlänge Chamber Music Society.
- 2010–2012: Project ZENIT, a 2-year collaboration between the Swedish Arts Council and Värmlands Museum, dealing with the artistic interpretations of the museum’s existing surroundings and its branches.
- 2012 - Musik på Udden, (Music on The Cape), Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde. Concerts as ‘musical works of art’, entirely created from, and integrated into, the museum’s exhibits. First performances of works created for the concert series and the museum.
Artistic leadership – Method and vision
Chamber Music is "great art in a small format". It means bringing different artistic expressions together to make new perspectives visible. To play music in venues where concerts normally not take place or in venues meant for other forms of artistic expression.
The more impressions an audience get the more important the experience get and the effect becomes clearer. Every now and then, I have inserted in the concert a debate or a conversation between artists and a moderator to highlight current topics. Also important is to offer concert experiences where the listener will get close to the events on stage.
To give the listener such an opportunity is unbeatable when you want to create a communicative atmosphere and convey a strong concert experience.
Model
"To work with the best helps if you want a good result"
The privilege of working with the amazing fellow musicians and artists who participated in the project so far has demonstrated the importance of creating new musical venues and to do so on the basis of innovative platforms.
The work
Anders role in the project is as violinist, recruiter, budget planner and to set the agenda for the creative work. The repertoire is chosen together with fellow musicians, actors, heads of institutions and artists. In addition he occupies himself with an ongoing dialogue with municipalities, private funders and regional music organizations about the project’s requirements.
They have all become important partners in discussing how the chamber music concert format can develop further in the future.
Responsibility
An important part of the work is to try and create a model for the meeting of art and music. This is decisive for the next generation of musicians and cultural workers and for college students that are to be channelled into careers, but also for the children who wishes to find their creativity through playing music. Their progress and the opportunities we give them through mentoring and collaboration at the highest artistic level is crucial to the development of classical music and to the future recruitment of new generations of audiences.
